Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our medical team. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a crucial role in collecting blood samples from patients for diagnostic testing and transfusions. Your attention to detail and ability to provide excellent patient care will contribute to the overall success of our healthcare facility.
Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens
- Verify patient information and ensure proper labeling of samples
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow established protocols and safety guidelines for specimen collection
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and ensure timely delivery
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions during the phlebotomy process
- Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring comfort and confidentiality
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate specimen collection
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Phlebotomist or related role preferred
- Proficient in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control practices
- Ability to accurately perform venipuncture and obtain quality blood samples
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited phlebotomy program preferred
- Valid certification as a Phlebotomist (e.g., ASCP, AMT) highly desirable
- Current CPR certification preferred
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
